Five Advantages of Going to an Integrative Medicine Clinic

If you’re wondering what integrative medicine is about, it is an approach to health care that combines conventional medicine with complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) practices, Eastern meets Western medicine including Functional medicine, getting to the root of the cause of the problem which is scientifically proven to be safe and highly effective. Integrative medicine is centered on the patient’s preferences and geared toward addressing all aspects of their health. We focus on restoring your health, not simply controlling the symptoms. Treatments are individualized, tailored to obtainable health goals!

Here are five advantages of going to an integrative medicine clinic—the very reasons to start contemplating finding one near you.

Takes a Holistic, Personalized Approach to Your Health and Well-Being

Many patients who have symptoms affecting multiple organ systems seek intervention from different healthcare practitioners. If you work with an integrative medicine provider, they will focus on how your symptoms may be interconnected and delve into their root causes, rather than simply addressing them individually.

Your provider will consider various factors affecting the different aspects of your health while working to help you regain your body’s natural equilibrium. They will also assess your lifestyle and determine any factors that may interfere with your ability to adhere to their recommendations. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, your integrative medicine provider will tailor your care to your specific needs and goals.

Reduces Reliance on Pharmacological and Surgical Interventions

While integrative medicine recognizes conventional medicine approaches, it puts emphasis on the use of modalities that leverage the body’s ability to heal itself.  For example, if you have back pain flare-ups, your integrative medicine provider may recommend an anti-inflammatory diet, acupuncture, or other adjunct CAM therapies. These modalities help reduce reliance on pharmacological and surgical interventions, both of which have their inherent risks.

Facilitates Effective Management of Chronic Conditions

If you have a chronic condition that needs constant monitoring, your integrative medicine provider will be your collaborative and accountability partner. They will encourage you to take an active involvement in your own care and work with you to decide on the best course of action. By meeting you where you are now and identifying and addressing any obstacles to lifestyle changes and treatment adherence, they will help you take better control of your health, so you can achieve an excellent prognosis.

Promotes Overall Wellness Through Disease Prevention

Integrative medicine providers are proponents of preventive care. To help you safeguard your health, we will help you understand your risk factors for various conditions, get a good grasp of your current health status, and find ways to proactively address medical issues way before symptoms develop.

We will teach you effective disease prevention strategies, which likely consist of lifestyle modification, nutritional therapy, and stress management, among others.

Helps You Build a Solid Groundwork for Improved Overall Health

Rather, it is about wholesome living— eating healthy, regularly engaging in physical activity, managing stress, and having a positive outlook on life.
